Novak Djokovic faced a surprising defeat in the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters, falling to Hubert Hurkacz in just 87 minutes with a score of 6-4, 6-3. This loss is particularly notable as Djokovic had never exited the tournament before the quarterfinals in his previous four appearances. The defeat leaves Djokovic with only 10 points in the Race to Turin, raising concerns about his qualification for the ATP Finals. The match showcased Hurkacz's strong performance, while Djokovic struggled to find his rhythm, leading to an early exit from the tournament.
